The "miniSTER2" detection unit is a state-of-the-art microprocessor-based central unit designed for operation in systems for the detection (detection and measurement of concentrations) of explosive and toxic gases. It is an element of the Active Gas Alarm system for active protection of various facilities against gas and vapour explosions, enabling gas detection, signalling and alarming as well as control of gas shut-off valves. The "miniSTER2" detection unit is designed for cooperation (power supply and control) with detectors with a supply voltage of 12V and maximum current consumption of 250mA. The control panel is designed for operation outside explosion hazard zones.

A maximum of two detectors can be connected to the control unit.
Additionally the control unit has an internal detector for detecting the exceeding of dangerous concentration values of carbon monoxide CO (option).
Power supply for detectors 12V, protected by polymer fuses.
Control unit power supply - mains voltage ~230V. Power supply back-up - internal battery 12V/1.3Ah, time up to 1h.

Depending on the version, it may have different types of inputs:

  • current: continuous (4-20mA), or dual threshold 4/8/12mA
  • voltage: 12V, NO or NC type, two inputs for one detector signalling exceeding alarm thresholds Al1 and Al2.
  • digital - RS485 connection, Modbus RTU protocol, detectors with addresses 1, 2

Outputs:

  • relay - 3 relays, with NO/NC contacts, signalling the exceeding of alarm thresholds Al1 and Al2. A third relay indicates exceeding of the alarm thresholds Al1 or Al2 (jumper switchable)
  • voltage 12V (OC-NO type), two outputs signalling exceeding alarm thresholds Al1 and Al2.
  • impulse 12V - high-current, for control of shut-off valve coils
  • digital - connection RS485, protocol Modbus RTU - (option, not valid for version with RS485 input)

Optical and acoustic signalling of exceeding the alarm thresholds Al1 and Al2, optical signalling of mains and battery power supply, alarm memory, failure (control unit versions with current and RS485 inputs) and alarm memory (option, not applicable to versions with RS485 inputs). current and RS485 inputs) and output driving.
Display of the measurement result (LCD display) - option.

  • miniSTER2CO+/D - 2-detector control panel with NC or NO type detection inputs (A1/A2 inputs), internal CO detector.
  • miniSTER2CO+/D/RS-WY - 2-detector control panel with NC or NO type detecting inputs (A1/A2 inputs), internal CO detector, RS485 output (with Modbus RTU Protocol)
