Gas detection signalling column "KSDG-4"

The mobile gas detection column is intended for adaptation wherever there is a need for periodical detection of a number of dangerous gases, but due to the specifics of the facility, or its temporariness, it is not possible (or uneconomical) to use stationary gas detection systems. The column protects the detectors which may be exposed to unfavourable environmental conditions which may lead to their being flooded with water or contaminated with dust, varnish, mud or other substances which deteriorate the working and service conditions of the detectors. Significant deterioration of these detector operating conditions without the use of a cover is usually the main cause of reduced detector life, or damage. In addition to the detectors, the column has one permanently installed optical/acoustic alarm device to indicate exceedances of hazardous gas concentrations, as well as two sockets for connecting additional portable alarm devices.

As standard, both additional and integrated alarm devices generate an optical signal (flashing red light) when the concentration of the first alarm threshold is exceeded, and additionally, an acoustic signal (intermittent) when the concentration of the second alarm threshold of the detected gases is exceeded. As an option, the alarm devices may be equipped with an additional green lamp, which lights up during standby if the concentration of the first threshold of any of the detected gases has not been exceeded. In this variant, once the first alarm threshold of any of the detected gases is exceeded, the green lamp goes out.

A typical application of the column is to provide a means of protecting areas where people and machinery that emit toxic gases, or vapours, are working. Such areas include; enclosed buildings where there is no ventilation (e.g. tunnels, underground passageways, underground stores, shelters, large halls...), warehouses, or industrial premises where the nature of the storage or use makes it impossible to use stationary detection systems, and as a complement to stationary hazardous gas detection systems.

The column is designed to accommodate Pro-Service multi-gas detectors of the types; DUOmaster M or Tmaster M.

One column is used for simultaneous monitoring of the following gas concentrations: O2, CO, CO2, NO2, LPG.

Example configurations - main module (upper) / lower module :

- O2 / CO2 detection

- CO / LPG detection

- O2 / NO2 detection

- detection of CO / LPG /NO2

On request, by agreement with Pro-Service, it is possible to detect other gases or hazardous vapours, or to dispense with the detection of some.
